This major project under the direction of bassist/composer/producer/educator John Lindberg is a co-production of LindyEditions, Geezer Lindberg SonicPics, the Kerhonkson Patriot Club, and the Letter Folks Collective.
Officially in production since August, 2009,utilizing the mediums of film and video, journalism and narrative prose, instrumental and lyrical music, based in the immersion of a strong and clear humanitarian initiative, American Bifurcation is a project of considerable force that grows and develops on a daily basis, with wide dissemination of crucial awareness concerning our current cultural and social realities being its prime goal.
Originally conceived as a film project, capturing images that highlight the devastating gulf between poverty and wealth in America in the most visceral of depictions, combined with interviews from folks around the country fervently expressing their divergent views on the current predicament, it has quickly expanded into a connected literary project incorporating letters from an array of articulate individuals, writings and spoken texts that drove the film’s narrative, and the ongoing development of a musical score that cuts to the very bone of the issue with its raw fire and depth.
American Bifurcation—it affects every single one amongst us, knowingly or unknowingly—this stings, and can heal, concurrently.
